The purpose of this ASSESSMENT is to help students improve their own learning and

S1. Ability to apply theory to practice and demonstrate reflexivity to analyse own or

observed practice

S2. Ability to apply SWOT analysis to your organisation focusing on Leadership

S3. Ability to present material in a clear and coherent manner, which demonstrate good

literature searches and referencing skills

S4. Ability to undertake, and log the hours spent, on the work-based learning placement

PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT OUTLINE

Your portfolio will be assessed against the specific learning outcomes identified above. You should consider the following criteria as a guide to producing your work in addition to the university’s assessment criteria:

• Details of the placement organisation including the nature of its activities
• Critical analysis of your experiences and performance within the organisation in relation to the leadership and management theories in the development of your skills, knowledge and understanding
• Critical evaluation of the role of managers as leaders in the organization and use of SWOT analysis to your organisation focusing on Leadership
• Critical use of appropriate theories to discuss the sociological concepts of reflexivity
• A critical evaluation of the ethical codes of conduct in relation to your organisation including its activities.

To fulfil the assessment requirements for this module you will compile a Portfolio consisting of Progress Review of completed documents with 100 hours work placement and 3000 words written assignment

Assessment

The completed portfolio will be drawn up of other documents in the Work Based Learning Handbook that includes:

1. Work Based Learning Handbook including SWOT analysis; Learning contract,

Supervisor’s report, Placement Log including completing 100 hours work placement and Risk Assessment

1. ESSAY that includes an understanding of the critical theories of leadership the sociological concepts of reflexivity and the ethical codes in health and social care with relevant citations and references included. (Approx. 3,000 words)

These assessments will measure how you have RECORDED, ANALYSED and EVALUATED your placement and to what extent you have achieved the essential learning outcomes and those identified by yourself in the Portfolio
