Original, Properly Referenced Materials
Our tutoring and reference materials are original and properly referenced, helping you produce work that upholds academic integrity and reflects your own understanding.
A personal statement is the one part of a university application you fully control. Grades are fixed by the time you write it; the statement is where an admissions tutor decides whether you understand the subject and belong on the course. We provide one-to-one coaching on UCAS personal statements, US Common App essays, postgraduate statements of purpose, Oxbridge and Russell Group applications and admissions interviews, starting at £95. You write every word; we show you what admissions tutors are actually looking for and where your draft is losing them.
From the 2026 entry cycle UCAS replaced the single free-form personal statement with three structured questions, each with its own minimum length and a combined 4,000-character limit. The questions ask why you want to study the course, how your qualifications and studies have prepared you, and what else you have done outside education that makes you suitable. Because the format is newer than most online advice, a great deal of the guidance students find is out of date and written for the old single-essay structure. We coach to the current format.
| UCAS undergraduate | Three-question structured statement, 4,000 characters total |
| Postgraduate (UK) | Statement of purpose, research proposals, academic references guidance |
| US Common App | 650-word main essay plus supplemental college-specific essays |
| Oxbridge | Subject-specific statements, admissions tests, mock interviews |
| Scholarships | Funding essays, motivation letters, Chevening-style applications |
| Interviews | Mock admissions interviews with structured feedback |
| Price | From £95; free 20-minute consultation first |
Admissions tutors read thousands of statements in a cycle, most of them in a few minutes each. Four things separate the memorable ones.
Evidence of genuine subject engagement beyond the syllabus. Not "I have always been fascinated by law" — everybody writes that. Instead: which case, which book, which podcast, which lecture series, and specifically what you thought about it and how it changed your view.
Reflection rather than listing. A list of work experience is a CV. What a tutor wants is two sentences on what a placement taught you about the discipline that you could not have learned from reading.
Evidence you understand what the course involves. Applicants routinely apply for psychology without realising how much statistics it contains, or for economics without the mathematics. Show you know.
Clear, unfussy writing. Long words used imprecisely read as insecurity. Plain sentences that make a specific point read as confidence.
The single biggest avoidable weakness we see is the opening. Roughly a third of drafts begin with a dictionary definition, a childhood anecdote about being curious, or a quotation from a famous figure. Admissions tutors have read all of them thousands of times, and they signal that the applicant had nothing more specific to say.
A strong opening starts in the middle of a specific thought about the subject. If your first two sentences could be pasted into somebody else's statement for a different course without anyone noticing, they are not doing any work.

We do not write statements. The admissions process treats a statement as your own declaration, and UCAS runs similarity detection across every statement submitted. What we do is coach: we help you find the material, structure it, and sharpen it, so what arrives is unmistakably yours and significantly stronger.

No. We coach students to write their own. UCAS runs similarity detection across all submitted statements, and a statement that is not genuinely yours puts the whole application at risk. We help you find material, structure it and sharpen it.
