How Regent College London's Pearson-Inspected HNC Pathways Work

Regent College London is a registered UK higher education provider offering Pearson-accredited HNC pathways in Business, Digital Technologies, Engineering, and Health Care Practice. As an Office for Students (OfS) registered provider, Regent College is subject to ongoing regulatory oversight, and its HNC provision is additionally quality-checked through Pearson's own Approved Monitoring Review and Sample Verification (AMR and SV) inspection process, which runs roughly twice a year. This means assignment briefs and marking are built directly from Pearson's fixed unit specifications, with an external layer of scrutiny checking that grading is applied consistently across cohorts and inspection cycles. Because HNCs are one-year, Level 4 qualifications rather than a full three-year degree, Regent College's course structure is more compact than a traditional undergraduate programme, with each unit's learning outcomes and assessment criteria tightly defined by Pearson from the outset. Students often progress from an HNC into an HND or a top-up degree elsewhere once they've completed the Level 4 stage, making the HNC itself a genuine first step in a longer pathway rather than a standalone qualification for most students. Many Regent College London students are international students or working adults choosing an HNC specifically because it's a shorter, more focused route into higher education than a three-year degree, often as a stepping stone toward a specific career or further study. Because Pearson's HNC specifications are applied nationally, the same unit at Regent College carries identical learning outcomes to that unit at any other Pearson-accredited HNC provider in the UK, even though local teaching, deadlines, and day-to-day support are set by Regent College itself.
